Manifesto
My mission, such as it is, is quite simple. I write about what I want
to write about. It might be personal, or political, or whatever. If
you see something you like, that speaks to you, great. I have done my
job. It would be even better if you let me know somehow that you
liked something I wrote, but if you don't want to, that's fine. Every
now and then I have heard from someone who liked something I wrote in
my previous incarnation. I figure, for every one who says something,
there are many more who liked what they saw but preferred to remain
anonymous.
When I'm talking politics, I might sound like a pundit. Maybe I am
one at that time. However, I am not interested in being yet another
source of critical analysis of the news. There are plenty of people
out there who are doing a better job than I could, simply because that
is their focus and feeds their desires. I do not necessarily research
my opinions. I am not interested in providing documentary evidence
through links. This is not that kind of site. As I said before,
there are many people who do that already. Click on some of the sites
I link on the sidebar if you need that sort of thing.
I am not looking to change anyone's mind. I am really not interested
in heated debate. All I'm doing here is preaching to the converted.
If you agree with me, great. If you don't, fine with me. My biases
are revealed both in my writing and in my choice of people to whom I
link. There is no need to either question my biases or point them
out.
Nasty comments will be deleted or changed to make the commenter look
like an idiot. Or maybe I'll ban the IP as well. The only freedom of
speech on this site is mine, since I'm paying for it. I will quash
your dissent with impunity, or maybe I won't. Maybe I'll be amused by
your antics instead. Who knows? Since I am Cranky-D, you don't
really know if I'm in a bad mood or not.
