My picks in review

Filed under: Dead Pool — by site admin @ 4:01 pm

The dead pool has a blogging requirement. Many participants haven’t been taking that very seriously. As a result, the ability of my picks to score me points has improved dramatically. I decided it was a good time to look over my picks and see if my points-earning potential has increased thanks to the laziness of others.

50 Cent: I started the year sharing this pick with eight other people. Now, I share him with one person.

Dan Fogelberg: I had a solo on him from the very beginning.

Gerald Ford: He is the favorite choice to croak this year. I started the year sharing this pick with 34 people. That number has been reduced to 13.

Hugh Hefner: The number of other people who can claim him has been reduced from four to two.

Charlton Heston: Ten other people started with him, now there are six others left.

Whitney Houston: I started the year sharing her with one other blogger, and I still share her. Dammit.

BB King: In the beginning, six other people bet on his demise. Now there is only one other person left who can claim points if/when he dies.

Courtney Love: Eleven other people bet my sweet baboo was going to kick it this year. Right now, only four others will score points when she keels over.

Mindy McCready: I continue to share her with one other blogger.

Liza Minelli: I used to share her with two others, but they never blogged about her. So now she’s a solo shot. Woohoo!

Anna Nicole Smith: I had a solo shot on her from the beginning. I did not know that before.

Kelly Osbourne: This “outside the range” pick has been a solo of mine from the beginning. If she dies I score big time. Which is, of course, why I picked her in the first place.

Les Paul: I continue to share him with one other person.

Louis Rukeyser: My only score so far, I shared him with two others when he kicked the bucket.

Scott Weiland: I used to share him with two other people, but that’s down to one.

Well, that was interesting. There were a lot of people who were moved into better scoring positions because so many people couldn’t bother to write anything about their picks. So, thanks to all you lameasses! Not that you’ll actually read this, of course. If you aren’t posting, it’s quite likely you don’t even bother to read the dead pool site.
